Meopta exclusively makes top notch optics, produced entirely in their Czech Republic facilities, with a focus upon brilliant color fidelity, performance, & robust functionality in all conceivable observing conditions.  For decades Meopta's quietly designed optics for many industrial and consumer firms you've heard of, so it makes sense they've finally entered broader markets to be known on their name.  When you prefer a bold, bright view-and don't mind carrying extra weight/mass to get it-you'll want a binocular such as Meopta's Meostar B1 12x50.

This is by no means a small optic, one much better suited to carrying all day via a well-padded case supported by your torso as opposed to upon your neck with even the best of straps.  Many will make use of a tripod adapter and a monopod with video-style head to further relax things.  But the difference between a premium 12x50 (or 10x50) and even the upper echelon of 8x42, 10x42 and 8x32 offerings is quite apparent.  The Meostar 12x50 has that brighter edge, the bigger subject, and a background that's brilliantly blurred behind things.  Observing while cast below a thick tree canopy will be no problem at all; things stand out even in poor light, with the coverings afar simply a blur of soft color.  It can be breathtaking.  This binocular and its 10x50 sibling are often the choice of nature guides at ecological rain forest vacation resorts.

For select few, the remarkable view will always be the undenied factor versus the convenience of carrying a 42mm or 32mm unit.  The advantages of a 12x50 are at no time more apparent than at twilight.  It also makes for a sensational astronomical binocular.
