The Alpha Optics AO-3251/3351 is a dual-channel night vision system. With a 51° field of view (FOV), it provides a large visual field without needing to move the binoculars. The Alpha Optics AO-3251/3351 uses advanced multi-coated optics and is built to last with a compact composite housing. Operating from a single AA alkaline battery or CR123A battery, the Alpha Optics AO-3251/3351 can run up to 20 hours. Also equipped with an integral infrared illuminator for reading in the dark. For hands-free operation, the Alpha Optics AO-3251/3351 includes head and helmet mounting options, it can be used as binoculars, as a monocular, goggles or stowed out of the way. Operated by a single gain control knob, the Alpha Optics AO-3251/3351 utilizes features like a flip-up-turn-off, and a flip-down-turn-back-on option when mounted to a helmet.

The 51 degree version has a slightly different set of lenses. They are similar, but the geometry both internal and external is slightly different.
These particular model utilizes the thin film technology.

Alpha Optics manufactures its own tubes which are comparable with high-specs in America market. The American FOM grading for the tubes is not normally used by tube manufacturers outside the USA. Since we offer non-American tubes only to our commercial customers, we also don’t use it.

So, the categories 2 and 3 are usually commercial grades with resolutions 57+ lp/mm and 51 lp/mm. Categories 0 and 1 are Milspec with resolutions 70+ and 64+.
