All Barr & Stroud ‘Series 4’ sports binoculars are a blend of superb optical quality, advanced mechanical design and contemporary styling.

This latest model from Barr and Stroud is the model that most resembles the famous Barr & Stroud models from the past. This ‘Open Bridge’ has a number of advantages over traditional designs. The most obvious is the ease of handling. Ergonomically it is a perfect fit with the human hand. Easy and comfortable to use in the most gruelling circumstances even with gloved hands. A less obvious advantage, is the amount of weight that is saved by the ‘Open Bridge’ design. Particularly suitable to hikers, walkers, travelers or service personnel. They are waterproof to a depth 1.5m of water for 3 minutes, plenty of time to retrieve them if you have dropped them in a stream or puddle. Further enhanced by the binoculars’ rubber armoured body which protects it from shocks and knocks. Fully Multi-Coated optics are standard features of the ‘Sahara’ as are BaK-4 prisms. This results in a super bright contrast rich image for the user even in low light conditions. Supplied with twist up rubber eyecups for use with or without glasses. The rapid focus mechanism goes from close focus to infinity in less than one turn of the focus knob. All ‘Series 4′ are supplied with carrying case, rain guards, tethered lens caps, deluxe strap and lens cleaning cloth.
