FLIR Scout III 240 (or 336x256, 640x512) Thermal Monocular
is a handheld thermal imaging device designed primarily for outdoor
enthusiasts but can be useful for anyone. You can view, record, or relay
images and videos of thermal signatures through fog, smoke, and foliage
during the day or at night. At the core of this device is the 240 x 180
VOx uncooled microbolometer that operates at a 30 Hz refresh rate. This
thermal imager features a 13mm lens with a 24 x 18° field of view, 1x
magnification, and a number of palettes and digital enhancements like
the FLIR Proprietary Digital Detail Enhancement. You can view scenery on
the built-in 640 x 480 LCD display or relay NTSC or PAL videos to
external displays and recorders. To enhance user experience, the
monocular offers a simple but effective control pad and an in-view menu.
This thermal imaging device is packaged into a lightweight, durable, and
ergonomic polymer body. Its rubberized covering provides a non-slip
grip, and its rubber eyecup offers comfort and protects eyepiece optics
from rain and snow.
