The Kowa Spotting Scope TSN-99S Prominar is the new flagship of Kowa. The TSN-99S is equipped with a large 99mm pure fluorite crystal objective lens, which in combination with a Kowa XD lens delivers superior performance in low light. This special combination, combined with the improved optical coatings, virtually eliminates chromatic aberration, even at high magnifications. Because the TSN-99S is equipped with a dual focus mechanism, the image can be focused faster and more accurately in just a few smooth revolutions. The fine focus mechanism provides the final control to view the image razor sharp.

Because the Kowa TSN-99S uses a 100% magnesium alloy, it is a compact and lightweight spotting scope in its class. The TSN-99S is easy to carry and has a fully waterproof and nitrogen sealed housing with Kowa KR coating on the optics. This makes the binoculars reliably robust.

Kowa TSN-99S with TE-11WZ II WA eyepiece

This kit comes with the Kowa TE-11WZ II wide angle eyepiece. This eyepiece has a magnification of 30x-70x and features two XD lenses, so the images are displayed with excellent sharpness. The eyepiece is fully waterproof and features a Twist-up eyepiece ring with three positions. This allows you to adjust the distance between your eye and the eyepiece. In this way, both spectacle wearers and non-glasses wearers have a pleasant viewing experience.

"Prominar" Lens

Chromatic aberration occurs due to the diffusion of light and the different wavelengths of light that concentrate at different positions, which can result in a red or purple border around the subject. The optimal optical material to minimize chromatic aberration is Fluorite Crystal. For the convex lens of the TSN-99A/99S, a Fluorite Crystal with extremely low dispersion characteristics is used. Instead of an ordinary optical glass lens, the hollow lens in combination with the Fluorite Crystal lens is made of glass with special dispersive properties to further reduce chromatic aberration. This combination virtually eliminates chromatic aberration and redefines the standards for color brilliance.

Fluorite crystal is only used in the top models of Kowa.

• Kowa C-992 water-repellent Stay-On Bag
  The water-repellent bag has been specially designed for the Kowa TSN-99S and provides good protection during use and on the move. It comes with a shoulder strap that allows the spotting scope to be carried close at hand at all times and allows quick observation. The bag can remain wrapped around the scope while in use. The covers of the objective lens and eyepiece can be removed very quickly and all controls remain accessible.
• Kowa TSN-CV88 Eyepiece protector
  This eyepiece protector prevents scratching of the eyepiece lens or its coating due to unfavourable conditions or transport. By using an eyepiece protector, costly repairs can be prevented.
• Kowa TP-105FT Protective filter
  Using a protective filter for the lens reduces the risk of damage to the lens and avoids costly repairs. This can extend the life of the spotting scope. The Kowa TP-105FT protective filter has oil and water repellent coatings and ensures that sand and sea salt do not get on the lens. This keeps the objective lens with the special coatings undamaged.

Damage to the objective lens can drastically reduce optical performance, which also causes costly repairs. Precisely because the TSN-99S is equipped with a lens made of pure fluorite crystal.
