Meade LX85 150mm f/5 Reflector Telescope OTA Only

This 6" Newtonian astrograph from Meade is a great solution for astrophotographers looking to capture deep sky objects. A compact telescope with a wide field, this LX85 astrograph captures as much light as possible with its 6-inch BK7 (borosilicate) mirror and enhanced reflectivity coatings. A f/4.1 focal ratio ensures a fast optical system when coupled with a DSLR or astronomy camera, making this astrograph great for shorter exposures.

The Crayford-style focuser has a 10:1 reduction fine focus knob for precision focusing, brass compression rings to protect the barrels of eyepieces and camera adapters, and a 2" to 1.25" step down adapter to accept either size eyepieces.

With a long back-focus of 77.1 mm this LX85 astrograph is designed to achieve focus with DSLR cameras, astrophotography cameras, and a variety of imaging accessories. For visual use, this optical tube includes a 35 mm long, 2" diameter eyepiece extension tube (which accommodates both 2" and 1.25" eyepieces). This astrograph also includes hinged tube rings, a Vixen-style dovetail rail, a 26 mm super Plossl eyepiece, an 8x50 finder scope with bracket, and a rear-mirror cooling fan.

When used with low power 2" eyepieces or camera sensors above ~4:3 format, an optional coma corrector (sold separately) is recommended.
