Minox Rifle Scopes

After having the Minox ZE5.2 for a few months now to test and compare to other high end hunting optics I wanted to share some of my thoughts and opinions on this optic.

The ZE5.2 is Minox’s new premiere line of hunting optics and are manufactured and assembled in Germany. The model that I have been testings is the 3-15×56 model but is also offered in a 1-5×24, 2-10×50 and 5-25×56. For my hunting purposes 3-15 is the perfect range. 3x is low enough for quick shots closer than 100m and 15x is more than enough for the longer shots. Your requirements may vary but for where I hunt it is perfect and Minox definitely made enough power ranges for all types of hunting.

I've been using the Minox ZP5 5-25x56mm with the MR4 reticle over the summer. The scope has been flawless and left me wanting to upgrade the rest of my fleet. Prior to the Minox, I had a S&B PMII 5-25x56mm MTC on my PRS rig. To be quite honest, I was never wowed by the scope. For something that cost north of $4000, I expected it to be amazing. Being lucky enough to own some nice scopes presents a real “First World Problem” because it becomes harder to be super-impressed with new scopes that come along. Occasionally, however a scope does present itself that makes me say “wow” and the Minox ZP5 is one of those scopes – so for those who like a short read, you can stop here. Simple but reliable optics with assured performance and a moderate price tag often get overlooked in reviews, but one scope I have come to rely on recently currently sits on my .22 rimfire rifle for general pest control duties. The MINOX ZX5i 2-10x50 is well suited to this gun, with a wide field of view accessible at short distances on 2x magnification and 10x available when wound up for longer, more preciese shots. I have tested this scope in both the available reticles and far prefer the #4 design shown here as it remains far more visible in the infinite varitey of light condition in which the .22 rimfire must perform.

The precise red illumination helps reticle visibility, and the German glass is bright and clear. We loved the lustrous black finish of the 30mm tube and its mounting dimensions.
