This item
is the same as the old SKU – except that it has a Bluetooth module that will
allow connection via Bluetooth.
Many of us have some experience with a budget-priced telescope, and once
you have gotten a taste of visually exploring the craters on the moon,
seeing the rings of Saturn for the first time, or perceiving the glowing
gas of the Great Orion Nebula, you are at the doorstep of the cosmos.
Through
astrophotography we can go well beyond our visual reach through a
telescope. But most budget-priced telescopes limit you to the visual
realm. To take these next steps you need the right gear to be equipped
for a life-enhancing and never-ending journey of celestial exploration.
Capturing the ethereal beauty of the celestial treasures overhead is
truly thrilling and deepens your understanding of our real connection
with the universe. The iEXOS PMC-Eight 100™ is designed from the
ground up to give you such priceless experiences with simplicity,
precision and affordability.
Product Highlights
- Streamlined Explore Scientific’s
PMC-Eight™ system that transcends the industry standard single processor
by utilizing eight CPUs that operate independently of one another to
focus on defined functions, which results in superior responsiveness,
efficiency, reliability and astoundingly fast timing intervals.
- Intuitive ExploreStars app, which is
available for Apple, Android and Windows tablets, that makes it simple
to operate the GOTO system. Through it, users can quickly align their
telescope, navigate the stars and learn specifics about tens of
thousands of celestial objects
- Locking clutches and altitude knob, which make the process of repositioning your telescope efficient
- Small polar alignment tunnel in mount base that can be used to roughly align your observing setup with Polaris
- Battery pack powering the PMC-Eight™ system uses 8 C batteries and is secured in a bracket on one of the tripod legs when in use
- Two 1 kg counterweights included
- Glow-in-the-dark markings on mount and tripod
Explore Scientific designed their IEXOS-100 PMC-Eight Equatorial Go-To Tracker System Mount
to provide users with a precision platform built to support
small-to-medium sized optical tubes and astrophotogrphy and imaging
rigs.
ES continues their commitment to user-friendly gear with the
PMC-Eight motor drive system that uses micro-stepper motors and a
direct-drive belt connection between the drive shaft and motor to ensure
accurate and smooth tracking for extended periods with minimal
vibration and zero backlash. The entire PMC-Eight software suite is
offered as open-source coding so users are able to tweak the system to
their personal preference and share with a growing community of
enthusiasts.
Keeping up with the latest technology, the common
wired control system is replaced with a wireless antenna for remote
control from Windows or Android/iOS smartphones and tablets running the
ExploreStars app. It has a database of over 70,000 objects with an
intuitive user interface controlled with the device's touchscreen.
Multiple alignment procedures, slew and tracking rates, and customized
guided tours allow it to be easily set up and get users observing
quickly with minimal frustration. Like the coding for the motor drive
system, the app is open source as well, so it can likewise be customized
and those modifications shared. A non-volatile memory and Real-Time
clock preserve settings, including backlash correction and Periodic
Error Correction (PEC), when the system is turned off and power is
disconnected.
