The VMC200L from Vixen
is well suited to deep sky observing and imaging. This 8.0"/200mm
f/9.75 catadioptric telescope features a sophisticated configuration
that incorporates a primary mirror and a meniscus corrector just before
the secondary mirror. The resulting optical path is corrected twice -
this eliminates spherical aberration and field curvature while
delivering sharper images without false-color. Because the optical
correction is placed before the second mirror, there's no need for a
corrector plate and the dewing problems associated with it. Another
benefit is the elimination of spherical aberrations,
Focusing
the VMC200L yields a stable and easy to adjust image. The
rack-and-pinion focusing system is placed behind the primary mirror to
eliminate image-shift. The focuser accepts 2.0" eyepieces and
accessories.
